The International Certificate of Competence (ICC) is accepted by EC Countries, and many others, as evidence of basic boat handling ability.  It is now a requirement in many places for boat hire or to use your own boat from beaches and harbours.

The ICC is issued by the RYA on behalf of the British Government.  You can qualify by holding a Level 2 Powerboat Certificate. Please be aware that if you require an ICC to cover craft in excess of 10 metres length overall (up to 24 metres)  you need to take an ICC Test (or Level 2) on a craft over 10 metres.  Otherwise your ICC will only be valid for craft up to 10 metres.  Please mention this when you book, and we can arrange for you to take your Level 2 or ICC Assessment on “Constance”.

If you intend to use your boat on the Inland Waterways of Europe you will also need to take the CEVNI qualification- the European Inland Waterways Highway Code.  We can normally arrange this for you at the same time as your Level 2 or assessment - just let us know your requirements.  We keep a stock of the excellent RYA CEVNI Handbook which is included in our CEVNI test fee.

Remember, as with the Powerboat Courses you can take your ICC Assessment on your own boat if you wish.
